Pikes Peak Chapter

About the Chapter

The chapter was chartered in 1985. The chapters first President was Carl T. Chilcott. The chapter covers southern Front Range Colorado to Pueblo. The Pikes Peak Chapter has a very active Color Guard dressed in Revolutionary period dress and firearms and marches in several parades a year.  The chapter annually presents to the Fire Dept and Police Dept. Medals of Commendation for public service, Flag Display Certificates and Certificates of Appreciation for Patriotic Service to the community.

David T. Mann  President Pikes Peak Chapter

Compatriots, I would like to welcome some new members to the Pikes Peak Chapter, Arthur Burnett Church, Major George Youstra, David Lange and Curtis Jenkins.  I have decided to be your President one more time with some specific goals and changes.  Some of the new changes involve a shorter and more informal approach to our business meetings to reserve more time for socializing, speakers and chapter members speaking on different subjects reflecting the American Revolution, patriotism, member’s patriot ancestors and historical preservation. I am also initiating a program to train and encourage members to serve as officers and chairman of committies. I would like to see our Patriot Newsletter reactivated, an education Chairman to work with our COSSAR Chairman Jan Housley arranging school presentations with the COSSAR Color Guard in the southern Colorado area schools.    Our next chapter function will be the Patriots and Founders Day Luncheon at the U.S. Air Force Academy in April. Our Secretary Dick Marsh will mail out a flyer shortly informing you of details. We will then have a chapter meeting in May at the Satellite Hotel.
Finally, if you need transportation to any function or meetings please contact me and I will arrange for someone to pick you up and return you to your home.     My time this year will be divided between traveling to California, COSSAR Color Guard Chairman, SAR Liaison for the Northern Colorado Fife and Drum Corps and chapter activities.     I hope to see you all this year at one of our many functions.

Patriotically,
David T. Mann
